Fatal RTC

Around 7:15 this morning, Police received a report of a serious single vehicle road traffic collision on Parsons Lane in Devonshire. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling east on Parsons Lane when the rider, an 18 year old Devonshire man, lost control and collided with a tree. The Devonshire man, who was found in an unresponsive state by a member of the public following the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 8:35am today. The motorcycle was extensively damaged and impounded by Police. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident (particularly any motorists who may have traveled along Parsons Lane between 10pm on Thursday and 7am today) or anyone with any information to contact PC Shantia Furbert on 299-4265 or 295-0011. No further information will be released until the next of kin are notified.

This marks the 1st road traffic fatality for 2006.

Breaking & Entering

At 6:15pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Beaming Hill, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:45am and 5pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole $100 in cash, a gold ring, a gold chain with a pendant and 2 DVDs. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
