Injury RTC

Around 7:20pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy's parish near the junction with the Railway Trail, involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling south-west on Somerset Road when the car entered Somerset Road from the Railway Trail and the two vehicles collided. As a result the rider of the motorcycle, a 26 year old Southampton man, was thrown over the car and sustained two fractured legs. He was taken to KEMH for treatment and is currently in stable condition on a general ward. The driver of the car, a 53 year old Warwick woman, was not injured. The car received front end damage while the motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Breaking & Entering

Around 5:50pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Rec View Hill, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8am and 5pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a silver & blue Nokia cellular phone (flip open type) and a silver & black half shell helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Shoplifting

Around 4:55pm on Tuesday, Police attended a report of shoplifting at the Marketplace on Church Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with the store manager who stated that he observed three young men acting suspiciously in the liquor aisle. As they attempted to leave the store, the manager stopped them and a search of their backpacks revealed a bottle of Jack Daniels, a bottle of Hpnotiq, two bottles of Alize and a bottle of Hennessey. The two 15 year old Sandy's parish boys along with a 16 year old Warwick boy were arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station, where they were subsequently bailed into the custody of their parents. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
