Robbery

At 10:30pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported robbery on Happy Valley Road in Pembroke near Fort Hamilton. The victim, a 39 year old Pembroke man, stated that earlier he delivered a pizza to an area business. As he was leaving, he saw someone lying in the road next to a motorcycle. However, when the Pembroke man exited his vehicle to assist what appeared to be a road traffic collision victim, an unknown man approached him from behind and held a sharp object to his neck. The unknown culprit then removed a blue Four Star Pizza pouch containing an unknown amount of cash and made good his escape. The victim was not injured and could not provide a description of the culprit. The apparent road collision victim was nowhere to be found after the incident. Inquiries are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Handbag Snatch

At 7:40pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch on Church Street in the City of Hamilton near City Hall. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 33 year old Hamilton parish woman, who stated that she had just left her place of employment and was walking to her motorcycle which was parked at the rear of City Hall, when she was approached by two unknown men. The men snatched her handbag and ran towards Dundonald Street. A member of the public who heard the victim's screams pursued the culprits and managed to recover the handbag which was dropped by the men. The Hamilton parish woman was not injured and was unable to give a description of the offenders. Police also searched the surrounding area for the men to no avail.
