The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm that the death of 45 year old Alvin Flood of St. George's, following a three vehicle collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish around 8:50am on Saturday, is officially the 2nd road traffic fatality of 2006. The death of 77 year old Peter Richold of Warwick on the morning of Friday, February 24, 2006, which was originally reported as the 2nd road traffic fatality of the year after the car he was driving collided with a bus on South Road in Southanpton, has been reclassified as a sudden death due to a pre-existing medical condition.

Disturbance

Around 6:20pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a disturbance on Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke, in the vicinity of Bernard Park. On arrival officers saw several individuals fleeing the scene on motorcycles. A Police car with its emergency equipment activated pursued the cycles east on Marsh Folley Road. Some of the cycles then made a left turn on to St. Monica's Road. As the Police vehicle attempted to follow them, the driver lost control and collided with a wall. The two officers in the Police car were uninjured; however, the vehicle was extensively damaged. A large section of the wall was also damaged. There were no reported injuries as a result of the disturbance and no one came forward to make an official complaint or provide information about the incident to Police. Inquiries are underway. Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 5 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 3 incidents of breaking and entering. There were also 23 damage only road traffic collisions and 7 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
