Vehicle Fire

Around 3 this morning, Police attended a report of a vehicle on fire at the Devonshire Recreation Club on Frog Lane in Devonshire. On arrival officers observed a green Daihatsu jeep engulfed in flames. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended and extinguished the fire, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle. The cause of the fire is under investigation and inquiries into this incident are underway.

Vehicle Overboard

Around 1:05 this morning, Police attended a report of a vehicle overboard at Darrell's Wharf on Harbour Road in Warwick. On arrival officers spoke with the driver of the car, a 43 year old Warwick man. He stated that he drove the car to Darrell's Wharf to use the public pay phone. However, as he was about to use the phone, he saw the car roll off the dock and into the ocean. Marine Police subsequently recovered the car with the assistance of an Island Construction crane. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Theft

Around 7:05pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported theft from a Ridgeway Road, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 9am on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday, an unknown culprit stole a yellow tile cutting machine from her front porch. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 5 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 4 burglaries. There were also 17 damage only road traffic collisions and 15 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
