Arrest - First Use of 'Captor' Incapacitant Spray

Around 4:25pm on Saturday, Police used the 'Captor' incapacitant spray for the first time. Officers were on patrol when they observed a 35 year old Southampton man commit an offence at the junction of Court Street and Elliot Street in Pembroke. He was warned to cease committing the offence. When he did not, the officers attempted to affect his arrest. The man resisted, 'Captor' was deployed and the 35 year old Southampton man was arrested, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. No one was injured during the incident and appropriate aftercare was given to the individual once he was in Police custody.

Burglary

Around 5:15pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported burglary on Scaur Lane in Sandy's parish. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 11am and 11:45am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a laptop computer and $1 worth of coins. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
