Burglary

At 5:40 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at St. Joseph's Church on Somerset Road in Sandy's parish. On arrival officers spoke with the church's priest who stated that sometime earlier, an unknown culprit gained entry into the church. The culprit stole $84 from a donation box. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

Around 4am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on St. John's Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed a white Subaru car overturned in the eastbound lane of St. John's Road, near its junction with North Shore Road. It appears the vehicle was traveling west when the driver lost control and struck the curb, causing the car to overturn. The driver had left the scene prior to Police arrival; however, the 20 year old Pembroke man was subsequently located after officers conducted a search of the area. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of a fractured right arm and facial injuries. The Pembroke man was then arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car was also impounded. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
