Injury RTC

Around 8:50pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Camp Hill involving two auxiliary cycles and a bus. It appears that the bus was traveling west on South Road and both auxiliary cycles were traveling in the opposite direction. As the cycles attempted to negotiate a bend in the road, one cycle collided with the other cycle, sending it into the path of the bus. The second cycle then collided into the side of the bus. The riders of the auxiliary cycles, a 16 year old Southampton boy and a 16 year old Pembroke boy were taken to KEMH for treatment of their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. The Southampton boy sustained a fractured elbow and a fractured knee while the Pembroke boy sustained abrasions to his right hand, elbow and knee. The driver of the bus, a 49 year old Warwick woman, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident, particularly anyone who may have been overtaken by the auxiliary cycles heading east on South Road in Warwick prior to the collision, to contact PC Preston Ephraim at Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
