At 11am on Friday, Police attended a reported theft from a construction site at the junction of The Glebe Road and St. Monica's Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the owner of the construction company who stated that sometime between 11pm on Thursday, March 30 and 8am on Friday, March 31, 2006 an unknown culprit or culprits stole several tools from the premises - a DeWalt sander, a Makita jackhammer, a green Myers 3/4 horsepower pump, a DeWalt grinder, a DeWalt reciprocal saw, a DeWalt impact drill, a DeWalt 'regular' saw and a DeWalt radio & battery charger. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to receive reports about the theft of tools from construction sites across the island. We are reminding all site managers and workers that all tools should be secured in a locked container or building at the end of the work day. Also, the tools should be marked with permanent marker and the serial numbers written down and kept in a separate secure location, so that if the tools are stolen and later recovered, they are readily identifiable.
