Assault

At 9:50pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported assault at a Fentons Drive, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 35 year old Pembroke man, who stated that he was inside his house when a man who also lives there allowed a group of men to enter. Once inside the group of men assaulted the Pembroke man using bladed weapons. The victim sustained lacerations to the left side of his head and back. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance, treated and later released. The suspects are known to the victim. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 4pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Serpentine Road in Pembroke, near the junction with Par-La-Ville Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the rider of the motorcycle, a 76 year old Warwick man was traveling west on Serpentine Road when the driver of the car, a 40 year old Paget man, exited the Bermuda High School for Girls on to Serpentine Road and the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of a spinal injury; he was initially in the Intensive Care Unit but was flown to Boston this morning for further medical treatment. The driver of the car was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

At 2:40pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a McGall's Bay, Smith's parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 11am and 2pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole an HP laptop computer, approximately $50 worth of coins and a digital camera. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
