At 3:30am on Sunday, a Police vehicle was involved in a road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Front Street and Court Street in Pembroke involving a car and an auxiliary cycle. It appears that the Police vehicle was traveling west on Front Street, the auxiliary cycle was traveling in the opposite direction and the car was stationary at the stop sign at the junction. The Police vehicle and the auxiliary cycle collided as the Police vehicle attempted to make a right turn on to Court Street causing the rider, a 17 year old Hamilton parish man, to be thrown from the cycle into the windscreen of the car. The 17 year old was then taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of bruising to his body and released. The occupants of the Police vehicle and the car were not injured.
