Two Men Injured During Disturbance - Around 12:30am on Monday, November 12th police officers attended a reported disturbance at Captain’s Lounge on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that an altercation occurred between a few men at the premises and as a result a 30 year old Paget man and a 23 year old Paget man were injured. Both apparently sustained a stab wound each and were treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. At last check the 23 year old man was recovering on a general ward while the 30 year old man had been discharged. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Reported Damage Only Collisions
Around 1:40am on Monday, November 12th police officers responded to a report of a single vehicle damage only collision on St. John’s Road in Pembroke near the junction with Moores Lane. It appears that a car was being driven along St. John’s Road when the collision occurred, causing the vehicle to overturn. The car was found extensively damaged and unoccupied at the scene. A 23 year old Pembroke man believed to be the driver at the time was subsequently located and arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Around 7:15am on Saturday, November 10th police attended a reported damage only collision on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with East Point Lane. It appears that a truck and a van were travelling along North Shore Road when they collided. As a result both vehicles were damaged.
Around 6am on Saturday November 10th police responded to a report of a single vehicle damage only collision on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Cable Hill. It appears that a car was being driven along North Shore Road when the driver, a 56 year old Smith’s parish woman, went off the road. The vehicle received damage to multiple areas as a result.
There were no reported injuries in any of these collisions.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the Remembrance Day holiday weekend, police officers arrested 28 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested nine people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
