Investigation Ongoing Following Disturbance - Detectives are continuing their inquiries into the disturbance that occurred around 3:30pm Sunday, November 4th at St. David’s Cricket Club, where a 28 year old male was injured. The victim, who was treated for his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and later released, was assaulted by several offenders despite the presence of eleven police officers at the sports club ground that afternoon, along with other police officers outside the premises and private security personnel on duty.

Four men were arrested in connection with this incident shortly after it happened and they remain in police custody. Inquiries are ongoing and investigators continue to encourage any witnesses, particularly anyone who may have pictures or video footage of this incident, to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.

Arrest on Suspicion of Impaired Driving

Around 2:15am on Sunday, November 4th police officers on mobile patrol along Front Street in the City of Hamilton observed a car being driven through the area in an erratic manner. The driver, a 29 year old Pembroke man, was caused to stop as a result and appeared to be intoxicated. He was then arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested 14 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
