Confirmed Firearm Incident - Police responded to reports of gun shots being fired in the area of Somerset Road in Sandys parish around 12:15am on Thursday, October 25th. Upon police arrival it was forensically confirmed that gun shots were discharged in that area, however there were no reported injuries. The area was secured and an active investigation has commenced into this confirmed firearm incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone that may have seen persons acting suspiciously in the area of Somerset Road and Ledgelets Lane to contact police on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
Update: Reported Serious Two Vehicle Collision in Devonshire
At last check the 23 year old Warwick man seriously injured in a two vehicle collision that occurred around 4:15pm Wednesday, October 24th on South Road, Devonshire in the vicinity of Tee Street, with the nearest junction Gables Lane, was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.
Two Motorcycle Collision in Pembroke
Around 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 24th police and first responders attended a reported collision on Berkeley Road in Pembroke near the junction with St. John’s Road. It appears that two motorcycles were travelling along Berkeley Road when they collided. The riders of both motorcycles, a 41 year old Pembroke woman and 22 year old Pembroke man, apparently received minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment. The 22 year old Pembroke man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
Single Vehicle Collision in Devonshire
Around 5pm on Wednesday, October 24th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle motorcycle collision on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Corkscrew Hill. The motorcycle rider, a 65 year old Warwick man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was recovering on a general ward.
