Regular Phone Numbers Restored to Main Police Stations - The normal telephone numbers for contacting the main police stations are operational once again. Members of the public who may need to contact the police can use the regular numbers as usual:
Arrest on Suspicion of Impaired Driving
Around 3am on Sunday, October 21st police officers on mobile patrol along Parsons Road in Devonshire observed a motorcycle being ridden through the area in an erratic manner. The motorcyclist, a 35 year old Smith’s parish man, was caused to stop as a result and appeared to be intoxicated. He was then arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Collision in Paget
Around 6pm on Friday, October 19th police and first responders attended a reported collision at the junction of Middle Road and Chapel Road in Paget. It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along Middle Road and a car was being driven along Chapel Road when the vehicles collided at the junction. The motorcycle rider, a 30 year old Warwick woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment; however her injuries did not appear to be serious. There were no other injuries reported. Both vehicles were damaged, the motorcycle extensively. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Courtney Simmons on 295-0011.
