Update: Reported Serious Collision in Southampton - At last check the 18 year old Sandys parish man seriously injured in a single vehicle motorcycle collision that occurred around 5pm Sunday, September 30th on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this collision are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Gavin Richardson on 295-0011.

Pedestrian Struck By Fleeing Motorcyclist

Around 3:45am on Saturday, September 29th police officers on mobile patrol in the City of Hamilton attempted to stop a male riding a motorcycle along Front Street; however the rider accelerated away. In his attempt to elude pursuing officers, the male rider later collided with a female pedestrian on Court Street. As a result the victim, a 57 year old Paget woman, sustained a leg injury and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check she was recovering on a general ward. The motorcycle involved was subsequently located and impounded. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and any witnesses or anyone with any information regarding the rider of a white motorcycle BR 599 early Saturday morning is encouraged to contact the main police number on 295-0011.

Man Injured Falling Out of Tree

Around 6:15pm on Friday, September 28th police responded to a report of a man being injured falling out of a tree. It appears that the victim, a 57 year old Pembroke man, was attempting to collect avocado pears out of an avocado tree in the Angle Street, Pembroke area when he fell to the ground. The Pembroke man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check was recovering in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested 14 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
