Collision on Harbour Road - Around 3:30pm on Wednesday, September 12th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Stowe Hill. It appears that a female visitor to the island was riding a rental cycle along Harbour Road when the rental cycle collided with a wall. As a result the rider, a 55 year old American woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check she was in stable condition on a general ward. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Reported Chain Snatch

It appears that around 5:30pm on Tuesday, September 11th a 24 year old Hamilton parish man was riding a motorcycle along Dundonald Street in Pembroke near the BIU gas station when two unknown men on another motorcycle rode past, with the pillion passenger snatching the Hamilton parish man’s chain from his neck. Both suspects then continued traveling along Dundonald Street, making good their escape.

The pillion passenger and main suspect is described as a light brown skinned male of slim build wearing a dark coloured helmet and visor, with dark coloured jeans and white sneakers. The area was apparently busy with traffic at the time of the incident and any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Detective Constable Tiffany Caisey at the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
