Impaired Driving

On Saturday July 8th at 2:30am Police were stationary on South Road in Paget at the junction of Bermuda College, when they observed a motorcycle traveling west along South Road. The officers observed the rider almost strike the curb near the Paraquet Restaurant then make a right turn on to Southcote Road. Whilst going up the said road the rider grazed up against the nearside hedge. The rider was eventually stopped by Police on Ord Road, where he struggled to put his cycle on the stand. His eyes were glazed and he smelled of intoxicants. He was taken to Hamilton Police station where he was given an Alco-Analysis Test.

Meantime, at 11:53pm on Saturday night, Police were on mobile patrol when they noticed a light van heading west on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish. The driver was stopped near the Aquarium where he was arrested and detained on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Finally, at 11:43 last evening Police were stationary at the junction of Southside Road and St. David’s Road in St. George's when officers observed a Honda Scoopy traveling west on Southside Road at a high rate of speed with a pillion passenger. The rider was stopped at the round-a-bout by Kindley Field. He was asked to get off his cycle and was unsteady on his feet. He was then arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
