Medical Emergency - Around 11:30pm on Wednesday, July 4th police and first responders attended a reported medical emergency on Front Street in the City of Hamilton near Chancery Lane. It appears that a man had attempted to climb on to a structure in the area but in the process fell to the pavement, injuring himself. The victim, a 22 year old Southampton man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
Collision
Around 5:10pm on Wednesday, July 4th police and first responders attended a reported collision on Middle Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Store Hill involving a truck and a rental cycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along Middle Road when they collided. As a result the rider of the rental cycle, a 37 year old Canadian woman and her pillion passenger, a 10 year old Canadian girl, were injured. Both visitors were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released. There were no other injuries reported. Traffic was diverted away from the scene while collision investigators conducted inquiries and the investigation into this collision is ongoing.
Internet Fraud Advisory
Once again the Bermuda Police Service would like to remind members of the public about online scams, as it has come to our attention that individuals are still being deceived. Locals online should remain vigilant and be especially wary of responding to correspondence from any person requesting monies using popular free e-mail addresses such as G-mail, Yahoo and Hotmail. In addition, residents are strongly advised not to send money via wire transfer to unknown persons.
