Impaired Drivers - Around 12:20am on Sunday June 24th, police were on mobile patrol along South Road in Southampton when they noticed a car that was travelling erratically. The officers subsequently stopped the car and approached the driver, a 53 year old Warwick woman, who appeared to be intoxicated. As a result, the Warwick woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. She later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Around 9:50pm on Friday June 22nd, police were conducting stop and search checks along Parsons Road in Pembroke when they observed a motorcycle that was travelling erratically. Officers stopped the vehicle and approached the rider, a 55 year old Pembroke man who appeared to be intoxicated. As a result, he was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested eight people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested seven people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
