June 20 - Daily Report

Collision - Around 7:30am on Wednesday, June 20th police and first responders attended a reported collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the Railway Trail involving a van and a motorcycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along Middle Road when they collided. The motorcycle then collided with a wall. The rider of the motorcycle, a 53 year old Sandys parish woman, reportedly received relatively minor injuries. There were no other injuries reported. Both vehicles were damaged, the motorcycle extensively. There were temporary traffic delays in the area as a result. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Update: Reported Assault

Around 7pm on Tuesday, June 19th police and first responders attended a reported incident at a residence in the Palmetto Road, Bishop Spencer Road Pembroke area. It appears that prior to arrival, a dispute took place between two family members. As a result, a 47 year old Pembroke man was stabbed; however his injuries were not considered life threatening. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was treated and later released. Inquiries are ongoing.

Impaired Driver

Around 10pm on Tuesday, June 19th police on mobile patrol responded to a report of a car travelling erratically along Middle Road in Southampton. The officers subsequently stopped the car and approached the driver, a 49 year old Southampton man, who appeared to be intoxicated. As a result, the Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He later failed the alco-analyser test and was detained in police custody. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
