Burglary

At 3:55 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Paget guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who are visitors to the island. They stated that sometime between midnight and 3am on Monday, an unknown culprit gained entry into their room. The culprit stole U.S. $120 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Firearm Incident

Several individuals are assisting Police with their inquiries into the shooting incident that took place on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the junction of South Road and Dunscombe Road in Warwick; however, no arrests have been made. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with any information about the shooting to contact Chief Inspector Tracy Adams at the Serious Crime Unit on 299-4315 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1-800-623-8477.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 5 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving (1 woman and 4 men, ranging in age from 24-60 years old; all failed the alco-analyser test) and 10 burglaries (1 in St. George's, 4 in Smith's parish, 2 in Pembroke, 2 in Paget and 1 in Sandy's parish). There were also 26 damage only road traffic collisions and 4 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.

The U.S. Independence Day celebrations, the 'Culture Shock' concert and the World Cup games took place without any incidents reported to Police, except for some traffic delays in the City of Hamilton following the England vs. Portugal World Cup game.
