The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 34 year old Joao Antonio Vital of the Azores. Mr. Vital was pruning trees in the Fairyland Road, Pembroke area around 2:10pm on Monday when he fell from a ladder and a tree limb fell on top of him. He was rushed to KEMH via ambulance in an unresponsive state and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at 2:42pm that day, when he was pronounced dead by an on call physician. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Burglary

At 9:35pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Harlem Heights Road, Hamilton parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:45am and 8:10pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while he was away from the premises. The culprit stole a gold & silver Movado watch, a gold chain with an 'H' pendant and $100 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
