Burglary

At 5:35 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Riddell's Bay Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that around 5:05am she was awoken by a light shining into her room. She then saw an unknown man in the doorway of her bedroom. The complainant asked the suspect why he was there and then screamed as he approached her, causing the suspect to make good his escape from the apartment. Nothing was taken and the complainant was not injured during the incident. The suspect is described as a brown skinned male of slim build, wearing a black washed out hooded top and black shorts. He is believed to be in this mid to late 30s. Inquiries are underway.

Weekend Activity

The Bermuda Police Service continued its high visibility uniformed policing throughout the island over the weekend, with a concentrated focus on problem areas. As a result, several arrests were made for a variety of offences including outstanding warrants, suspicion of possessing controlled drugs and possession of bladed weapons. Of note, there were two individuals arrested for assaulting Police officers and one individual arrested for impersonating a Police officer.

Over the weekend there were 6 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving (5 men and 1 woman; 4 of the individuals failed the alco-analyser test, 2 passed) and 9 reported burglaries (1 in Southampton, 2 in Warwick, 1 in Paget, 2 in Pembroke, 2 in Devonshire and 1 in Hamilton parish). There were also 20 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 13 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
