Reported Serious Collisions - Around 3:55am on Sunday, April 29th police and first responders attended a reported serious single vehicle collision on Cemetery Road in Pembroke near the junction with Serpentine Road. It appears that a car was traveling along Cemetery Road when it collided with a fence and overturned. The driver, a 25 year old Pembroke woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. There were no other injuries reported. Around 2:30am on Sunday, April 29th police and first responders attended a reported serious single vehicle collision in the vicinity of the round-a-bout at the junction of North Shore Road and Palmetto Road in Pembroke. It appears that a SUV was traveling along Palmetto Road when the vehicle went through a wooden fence and over an embankment, landing on the shoreline below. The driver, a 60 year old St. George’s man, was injured and had to be extricated from the extensively damaged vehicle before being hoisted to an awaiting ambulance. At last check the victim was receiving treatment for his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. There were no other injuries reported. Update: Collision With Utility Pole
Around 6:45pm on Saturday, April 28th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision at the junction of North Shore Road and Tatem Lane in Pembroke near Pembroke Community Club (PCC). It appears that a SUV was traveling along North Shore Road when it collided with a utility pole at the junction. The driver, a 51 year old Pembroke man, received relatively minor injuries. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released. There were no other injuries reported. Traffic was diverted away from the scene while BELCO personnel worked to rectify the damaged pole and restore electricity to area residents who had lost power as a result of the collision. Around 1:30am on Sunday, April 29th electricity was fully restored to the affected homes and the road was re-opened.
