Superintendent Martin Weekes - The Bermuda Police Service takes this opportunity to advise the public on a number of
matters to ensure a peaceful and safe time during this year’s Agricultural Exhibition which will take place this weekend coming commencing on Thursday 19th April concluding on Saturday 21st April 2012.
High Visibility Patrols
The Bermuda Police Service will be conducting high visibility patrols throughout the event with the intents of providing public reassurance and to deter criminal and anti-social behaviour and to assist with traffic control in an effort to minimise traffic disruptions and facilitate safe passage for road users in the area with the overall aim of making Bermuda safer.
In line with our strategic intent of guns, gangs, drugs and violence reduction, the Bermuda Police Service is intent on deterring those members of the public that might seek to disrupt the event with acts of violence and criminality.
Police officers at the event assisted by their colleagues from the Bermuda Reserve Police will be partnering with security providers at the event to deter crime and anti-social behavior. Those persons who are not deterred by the presence of the police and commit these offences can expect to be promptly arrested and delivered to the courts.
CCTV cameras will be deployed throughout the grounds by our partners in the security industry.
Road Traffic
Throughout the event the usual traffic diversions will be in place around the Botanical Gardens, Point Finger Road, Berry Hill Road and South Road as below:
