Collision - Around 10:30pm on Friday, March 16th police and first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on South Road in Paget in the vicinity of the South Round-a-bout. It appears that two cars collided in the area; as a result both vehicles were extensively damaged. One female driver was injured and treated at the scene while the other, a 51 year old Southampton woman, was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The injured driver was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for further medical assessment; however her injuries are not believed to be serious. There were no other injuries reported. The Southampton woman was subsequently released on police bail. A court appearance regarding this matter is anticipated in due course.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested 6 people on suspicion of impaired driving and 24 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
