Assault - Around 7:55pm on Monday, March 12th police and first responders attended a reported assault with a bladed article at an Elliot Street, Pembroke residence. The suspect and the victim are apparently known to each other. Both men were injured as a result. The victim, a 44 year old Warwick man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check was recovering on a general ward. The suspect, a 41 year old Pembroke man, was also treated at hospital for his injuries, arrested and detained in police custody in connection with the incident. Inquiries are ongoing.

Witness Appeal

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a female being accosted by an unknown male at a bus stop along Palmetto Road, Devonshire, in the area of Frog Lane and Roberts Avenue, between 3:45pm and 4:30pm on Thursday, March 8th. The female victim left the area on a bus and later reported the incident. She was unhurt. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 6’1” tall of stocky build wearing all black clothing, including a distinctive T-shirt and a scarf. Any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the main police number on 295-0011.

Community Meeting

Officers from the Western Community Action Team invite all Warwick residents to attend a 6pm Neighbourhood Watch meeting on Wednesday, March 14th at T.N. Tatem Middle School. Warwick residents are encouraged to participate in this meeting, which provides an opportunity to address any concerns they may have.
