Handbag Snatch - Around 11:30pm on Thursday, March 8th police responded to a reported handbag snatch on Broken Hill Lane in Smith’s parish. It appears that the victim, a 27 year old Smith’s parish woman, was accosted by an unknown man as she exited her car outside her home. The suspect, described as a black male approximately 6’ tall wearing a white hooded top, T-shirt, jeans and sneakers, took the victim’s handbag and made good his escape on foot. The Smith’s parish woman was not injured.
Officers conducted a search of the vicinity; but the culprit was not located. However, the victim’s handbag was subsequently located in the surrounding area by a member of the public who contacted police, resulting in the recovery of the handbag and its contents.
