Collisions - Around 7am on Wednesday March 7th, police and first responders attended a reported collision on Palmetto Road in Devonshire between a car and a motorcycle. It appears the vehicles were travelling along Palmetto Road when they collided near the junction with Aeolia Drive. The rider, a 33 year old Hamilton parish woman was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. The driver, a 68 year old Warwick woman was not injured. Both vehicles were damaged and there were traffic delays in the area as a result. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 1:25am on Wednesday March 7th, police and first responders attended a single vehicle collision on South Road in Southampton. It appears that a car was travelling along South Road near the junction with Tribe Road #3 when it went over an embankment. The driver, a 30 year old Southampton man received relatively minor injuries. The car was damaged as a result. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Robbery
Around 2pm on Tuesday March 6th, police responded to a reported robbery on Texas Road in St. George’s. It appears that a 16 year old male auxiliary cycle rider was accosted by two unknown males on a motorcycle as he was stationary at the junction of Texas Road and St. Luke’s Lane. As a result, one of the assailants took the teenager’s grey Yamaha auxiliary cycle. Both suspects then made good their escape. The teenager was not injured. The first suspect is described as a short, light skinned male wearing a dark-coloured helmet with a black sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a light brown skin male around 5’7” tall, wearing a black helmet, a light coloured jacket and blue jeans. Any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information on the whereabouts of a grey Yamaha V50 with red rims and lime green stickers, bearing the license plate of 927AN is encouraged to contact Detective Constable Jason Trott at the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.
