Impaired Drivers - Around 2:30am on Monday February 13th, police on mobile patrol along Crow Lane in Pembroke observed two motorcycles driving erratically. Officers stopped both motorcycles and spoke with the riders, who appeared to be intoxicated. As a result, the two riders, a 39 year old Warwick man and a 41 year old Southampton man were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Both were detained in police custody after failing the alco-analyser test. A court appearance is expected in due course.
Collision
Around 8:20am on Monday February 13th, police and first responders attended a collision on Somerset Road, near the junction with Heydon Drive in Sandys between a motorcycle and a car. It appears that both vehicles were travelling along Somerset Road when they collided. The rider, a 27 year old Sandys man was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for relatively minor injuries where he was treated and later released. The driver, a 52 year old Warwick woman was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested 18 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
