Collisions - Around 6:55am on Monday January 30th, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on St. Anne’s Road in Southampton. It appears that a car was travelling along St. Anne’s Road when it went over an embankment and collided with a house in the area. Both the home and the car were damaged. The driver, a 28 year old Southampton woman was not injured. Inquiries into the incident are underway.

Around 4:20am on Sunday January 29th, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Paynters Road. It appears that a jeep was travelling along Harrington Sound Road when it collided with an embankment and overturned. The driver, a 43 year old Warwick man was not injured; however the jeep was damaged as a result. Inquiries into the incident are underway.

Around 2:40am on Saturday January 28th, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Horseshoe Road in Southampton. It appears that a car was traveling along Horseshoe Road when it went over an embankment and ended up on the wall of a nearby home. The driver of the car left the scene prior to police arrival. The passenger, a 24 year old Warwick woman received minor injuries. The car was extensively damaged and later towed away from the scene. Inquiries into the incident are underway. Impaired Driver

Around 3:30am on Saturday January 28th, police officers were on mobile patrol on King Street in the City of Hamilton when officers noticed a car driving erratically near the junction with Reid Street. Officers stopped the car and spoke to the driver who appeared to be intoxicated. The 39 year old Pembroke woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody after failing the alco-alanyser test. A court appearance is expected in due course.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend, police officers arrested 10 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
