Attempted Robbery - Around 8:30pm on Wednesday January 25th, police on mobile patrol along Harbour Road were alerted to an attempted robbery in the area of Valley Road in Paget. It appears that a 29 year old Southampton woman was riding a motorcycle along Harbour Road when two unknown men on another motorcycle rode alongside her. The pillion passenger reportedly got off the suspects’ motorcycle and accosted the victim. A struggle ensued, with the assailant attempting to take the woman’s handbag. A passing motorist came to the victim’s assistance, chasing the assailant who fled on foot empty handed. Police searched the surrounding area; however the suspects were not located. The victim received relatively minor injuries. The main suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’7” tall of average build, wearing a red and white rain jacket. Collisions
Around 6:45am on Wednesday January 25th, police responded to a reported collision at the junction of Harbour Road and Lovers Lane in Paget. It appears that a motorcycle was travelling along Harbour Road when it collided with a wall. The rider of the motorcycle, a 45 year old St. George’s man was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be serious. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 7:45pm on Wednesday January 25th, police responded to a report of a collision on Verdmont Road, near the junction with Sayle Road in Smith’s. It appears that a motorcycle and a car were travelling along Verdmont Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 29 year old Smith’s man sustained relatively minor leg injuries. The driver of the car, a 73 year old Pembroke woman was not injured.
