Collisions - Around 5pm on Monday January 23rd, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision near the junction of Mangrove Bay Road and Ferry Lane in Sandys. It appears that a motorcycle was travelling along Mangrove Bay Road when it collided with a sidewalk. The rider, a 66 year old Sandys man was injured and conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. At last check he was in stable condition on a general ward. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Around 8:15pm on Monday January 23rd, police responded to a reported collision at the junction of Middle Road and Garthowen Road in Devonshire. It appears that a car and a motorcycle were travelling along Middle Road when they collided at the junction. The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old Hamilton parish man was injured, however his injuries are not considered serious. The driver, an 83 year old Devonshire man was not injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Assault

Around midnight on Sunday, January 22nd police responded to a reported assault in the area of Angle Street and Brunswick Street in Pembroke. It appears that the victim, a 37 year old Sandys parish man, was assaulted by another man with a bladed article. The assailant is described as a short black male of medium build, wearing a tan or grey coloured hooded top and dark coloured pants. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment and at last check was in stable condition on a general ward. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
