Robbery in Sandys Parish - At 11:30pm on Saturday, November 26th police received a report of a robbery in the Rockywold Drive, Woodlawn Road Sandys parish area. It appears that around 11pm the victim, a 16 year old young man from Southampton was riding his auxiliary cycle along Rockywold Drive when he was accosted by a group of unknown young men. The assailants took the teenager’s auxiliary cycle and Blackberry mobile phone before making good their escape. The victim was treated for a minor injury at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and released. The suspects are described as a group of young men wearing hooded tops. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information, particularly anyone who may know the whereabouts of a black Honda auxiliary cycle bearing license 762 AB, to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
Theft
Around 8am on Saturday, November 26th police received a report of a theft. It appears that around 7:50am a security van was parked on Front Street near the junction with King Street in the City of Hamilton when two unknown men on a motorcycle rode up to the vehicle and removed three bags containing a quantity of cash. Security officers attempted to stop the culprits, but were unsuccessful. The suspects are described as of slim build, wearing dark coloured clothing and black helmets with dark coloured visors, riding a SYM motorcycle. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
Assault
Around 7:40pm on Friday, November 25th police responded to a reported disturbance at a South Road, Warwick restaurant. It appears that a dispute occurred between two men on the premises and as a result one of the men was stabbed in the shoulder. The victim, a 30 year old Warwick man, attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment and was later discharged. The suspect, a 34 year old Sandys parish man, was arrested at the scene. The victim has not made a formal complaint at this time; however inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
