Update: Serious Collision in Southampton - At 7:20am on Thursday November 24th, police and first responders attended a report of a serious collision on Middle Road, Southampton in the vicinity of Five Star Island involving a motorcycle and a bus. It appears that both vehicles were travelling along Middle Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 41 year old Hamilton parish man, sustained head injuries and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. At last check, he was listed in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. No one else was reported injured. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately two hours. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for any witnesses, in particular the rider of a second motorcycle which was believed to be in the area around the time of the collision, to contact PC Bianca Glasford at the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.
