Handbag Snatch

Around 11:10pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch on Cedar Avenue in Pembroke, near the junction with St. John's Road. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, who are visitors to the island. They stated that around 10:15pm they were riding their rental cycle south on Cedar Avenue when an unknown man on a motorcycle rode alongside them and snatched a multi-coloured beach bag from the rental cycle's basket. The suspect then made good his escape. The bag contained a silver Nikon digital camera, a silver & blue Panasonic camcorder and personal items. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male of stocky build wearing a blue football jersey. He was also riding a blue motorcycle. The visitors were not injured. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Theft

Around 3:35pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported theft on Mount Road in St. George's. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who are visitors to the island. They stated that earlier that day they visited St. David's Lighthouse. While they were taking a tour of the lighthouse, they looked down and saw an unknown man approach their rental cycle and remove a handbag which was in the cycle's basket. The suspect then made good his escape on foot. The handbag contained U.S. $100 in cash and two packages of Marlboro cigarettes. The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts, riding a black motorcycle with a full face helmet. Officers conducted a search of the area and located the handbag, minus the cash and cigarettes. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

At 11:10am on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Pembroke guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who are visitors to the island. They stated that sometime between 9:30pm on Monday and 8:30am on Tuesday, an unknown culprit gained entry into their room. The culprit stole U.S. $500 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Missing Persons - Found

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 24 year old Khalil Ishmail Roberts. He was found safe and well today.
