Assault - Around 3:10pm on Sunday November 13th, Police received a report of an assault at a golf course in the South Road, Paget area. It appears that around 2:50pm, the male property manager observed unknown men on the property, some riding motocross cycles. After confronting one of the motocross riders, an altercation ensued with one of the unknown men. The manager, a 55 year old Paget resident received minor injuries as a result. His assailant is described as a black male about 20 years old, approximately 6’2” tall and 200lbs with short hair. At the time of the incident the suspect was wearing a black and white printed T-shirt and black pants. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone with any information should contact PC Rhoda Jones on 295-0011.
Burglary Advisory
The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. Over the Remembrance Day holiday weekend there were a number of burglaries reported, most occurring in the Warwick and Pembroke areas. Overall, a quantity of electronics and cash was taken. The public is reminded to make sure all windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended.
We also continue to recommend that all residents secure their valuables out of sight, record serial numbers of all items and take pictures of their possessions. In particular, make note of electronic equipment and jewelry - so that if they are stolen and later recovered, there is an accurate way of identifying them.
Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods to the Police by contacting 295-0011. The public is reminded that receiving stolen property is an offence punishable under the law.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the Remembrance Day holiday weekend, police officers arrested 10 people for outstanding warrants. Officers also arrested 5 people on suspicion of impaired driving and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
