Suspicious Circumstances

Around 7:15 this morning, Police were on mobile patrol in the Glebe Road, Pembroke area when they stopped to speak with a man sitting on a wall. The 25 year old Jamaican national began to act suspiciously during the officers' conversation with him; then without warning, he ran from the officers and jumped over a wall, landing approximately 40 feet below in the westbound lane of Palmetto Road. Officers were quickly on the scene to administer first aid until the arrival of the ambulance. The Jamaican national was then taken to KEMH for treatment of leg injuries. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Assault

Around 3:20pm on Wednesday, Police attended KEMH following a reported assault in the Rambling Lane/ Parsons Road area of Pembroke . On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 34 year old Pembroke man, who stated that sometime between 2:30pm and 2:45pm that day he was walking in the area of the pre-fabricated houses when he saw four men. One of the men attempted to rob him and a scuffle ensued. After the scuffle, the Pembroke man walked away but his assailant approached him from behind and stabbed him in the back. However, his injury is not believed to be life threatening. It appears that the suspect is known to the victim. The suspect is described as a dark brown skinned male, approximately 6' tall of slim build with a short haircut. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
