Man Recaptured After Briefly Escaping Custody - It appears that around 1:30pm on Wednesday, a 19 year old Devonshire man was being processed at Hamilton Police Station when the teenager allegedly assaulted a Police officer and fled the premises on foot. The Devonshire man was quickly located by Police and taken back into custody. The Police officer was not injured. A court appearance for the 19 year old Devonshire man is anticipated in due course.
Burglary
Around 9:15pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Grotto View Hill, Smith’s parish residence. It appears that sometime between 10am and 9pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash, a laptop computer and a video camera. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make surewindows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. Also, before retiring to bed at night all windows & doors should be locked with any valuables secured out of sight. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
