At 12:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of South Road and Marley Beach Close in Warwick involving a taxi and a motorcycle. It appears that the taxi was exiting Marley Beach Close and attempting to make a right turn on to South Road when it collided with the motorcycle, which was traveling west on South Road. The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old Pembroke man, sustained facial abrasions and broke both his legs as well as his right wrist. The driver of the taxi, a 73 year old Pembroke man, sustained cuts to his fingers. Both men were taken to KEMH for treatment of their injuries. The motorcycle was extensively damaged while the taxi received front end damage. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately an hour after the collision. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Traffic Initiative

The Bermuda Police Service Community Action Team conducted traffic checks in the area of Bulls Head car park on Dundonald Street in Pembroke between 8am and 10am on Wednesday and issued 90 tickets. Sixty tickets were issued for illegally parked vehicles and thirty tickets were issued for unlicensed and uninsured vehicles.
