Robbery

Around 4:55pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported robbery on Rockaway Road in Southampton near the junction with Sea Express Lane. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 14 year old young man from Southampton. He stated that he was walking from the Rockaway Ferry Dock when he heard two young men behind him. One of the suspects then put the 14 year old in a headlock from behind and told him to empty his pockets, which he did. The suspects took the victim's IBM laptop computer in a black case and a black I-Pod before making good their escape. The victim was not injured. The suspects who are believed to be in their teens, are described as a young black man, 6' tall of slim build with a short hair cut wearing a brown shirt; and a young white man, 6' tall of medium build with an orange beard wearing army green pants, a grey shirt and a black 'du-rag'. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact Detective Constable Derek Berry at the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Burglary

Around 5:40pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Ord Road, Paget residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between Tuesday, November 21 and earlier on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while they were overseas. The culprit stole a grey 18" Panasonic flat screen TV and a 'bus' bank containing approximately $10 worth of coins. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
