Assault

Around 1:35am today, Police attended KEMH after a reported assault at Docksiders Pub & Restaurant on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 21 year old Warwick man, who stated that around 1:20am he was assaulted inside the establishment by an unknown man. Once outside the premises in Fagan's Alley, the victim was again punched in the face by the suspect who then left the scene. The Warwick man sustained bruising and swelling to his face. The suspect, a 24 year old St. George's man, was subsequently located by officers on Front Street and arrested, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. Another patron of Docksiders, a 22 year old Pembroke man, also alleges he was assaulted by the same suspect while inside the establishment. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 11:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Southampton guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who is a visitor to the island. He stated that earlier he found an unknown man in his room. The complainant confronted the intruder, who made good his escape. The culprit stole approximately $250 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
