The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Most of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles with 1 motocross cycle also reported stolen during the period. Of the 16 vehicles reported stolen, 1 was subsequently recovered.
Sudden Death
Around 12:55pm today, Police & first responders attended a report of a body floating in the waters near Darrell’s Wharf on Harbour Road in Warwick. The deceased, a 79 year old Warwick woman, was brought on to Darrell’s Wharf and rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where she was subsequently pronounced dead at 1:07pm by an on call physician. Foul play is not suspected. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.
Industrial Accident
At 12:50pm on Monday, Police attended a reported industrial accident at an Appleby Lane, Paget residence. The Government Health & Safety Officer also attended the scene. It appears that the victim, a 48 year old Malaysian man (contract worker), was working on a ladder inside a building on the premises when he fell approximately 15 feet to the ground. He was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of serious chest and head injuries; however he was subsequently pronounced dead by an on call physician at 8:40pm on Monday. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.
