Around 7:20pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Kindley Field Road in St. George's (Stonecrusher Corner). On arrival officers saw the victim, a 24 year old St. George's man, lying on the grass verge near a motorcycle. He was breathing but unresponsive to the officers. It appears that the 24 year old was riding east on Kindley Field Road and lost control attempting to negotiate Stonecrusher Corner. The St. George's man was treated at the scene by paramedics then rushed to KEMH for further treatment of serious head injuries. He is currently in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this incident are underway. At 2:40pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Burnaby Street and Reid Street in the City of Hamilton involving a van and a pedestrian. It appears that the van was traveling west on Reid Street when it turned right on to Burnaby Street and collided with the victim, a 50 year old St. George's woman, who was walking across the pedestrian crossing. The St. George's woman sustained minor abrasions to her left knee and shoulder. She was taken to KEMH for treatment of her injuries. The driver of the van was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
