The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

During the week of Monday, January 25th – Monday, February 1st 2010 there were:

  • Reported Injury Collisions = 9
  • Reported Damage Only Collisions = 29
  • Arrests on Suspicion of Impaired Driving = 12
  • Vehicles Reported Taken Without Their Owners’ Consent = 12
  • Number of vehicles reported stolen by parish: St. George’s = 1, Hamilton parish = 1, Pembroke = 8, Paget = 1 and Warwick = 1.

Most of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, with 2 cars also reported stolen during the period. Of the 12 vehicles reported stolen, 4 were subsequently recovered, including both cars.

Missing Juvenile - Troylene AndersonTroylene Anderson

The Bermuda Police Service continues to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 17 year old Troylene Anderson. The teenager was last seen on Tuesday, January 26th 2010. She is described as 5’5” tall weighing approximately 186 pounds with short curly reddish brown hair and is known to frequent the St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke area. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 17 year old Troylene Anderson is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011.

Burglary

Around 2am today, Police received a report of a burglary at Calais on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish. It appears that sometime overnight an unknown culprit gained entry into the store and stole a grey Panasonic portable DVD player and a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 8:25am on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at E.R. Aubrey Jewellers/Fine Things on Queen Street in the City of Hamilton. The complainant stated that sometime between 10:35am on Sunday and 8:10am on Monday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the premises. It appears that the culprit(s) stole a quantity of jewelry from E.R. Aubrey Jewellers. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
