Robbery

At 4:50 this morning, Police attended a reported robbery at a Paget guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, who are visitors to the island. They stated that they awoke around 4:30am after hearing noises at their door. As the 77 year old male visitor got out of bed to investigate, he observed two individuals in the room. One of the suspects punched him in the face and demanded money. The suspect then removed a black leather wallet from the male victim containing U.S. $50 in cash and personal items. Both men then left but immediately returned, again demanding money. This time one of the suspects pushed the 55 year old female visitor to the ground, while the second suspect went into a closet and took the female victim's brown leather backpack containing $20 worth of U.S. coins, a black & grey Nokia cellular phone, a Fuji 35mm camera and personal items. Both suspects then made good their escape. The 77 year old male victim sustained a bloody nose and bruising to his upper lip, but declined medical attention. The 55 year old female victim did not report receiving any injuries. The suspects are described as two men (one of whom was black) approximately 5'6" - 5'8" tall, of slim build. Both men are believed to be in their 20s or 30s. Inquiries into this incident are underway. At 3 this morning, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 24 year old Paget man, stated that around 1:45am he was walking to his motorcycle which was parked on Bermudiana Road in Pembroke. As he approached his motorcycle, he observed an unknown man who appeared to be draining gas from the cycle. The Paget man confronted the suspect and a scuffle ensued between them. A second suspect then appeared and intervened. The suspects took the victim's black leather wallet containing $45 in cash and personal items as well as the victim's cellular phone before making good their escape, running in opposite directions along Bermudiana Road. The victim was not injured. The first suspect is described as a light skinned male, approximately 5'7" tall of medium build wearing a white & blue rain jacket and a hood or a hat. He is believed to be in his 20s. The second suspect could only be described as a black male wearing a black jacket. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
