At 1:10am on Saturday, Police attended a reported fire at Leopards Club on Brunswick Street in Pembroke. It appears there are suspicious circumstances concerning the origin of the fire and the incident is under investigation. A 45 year old Pembroke woman, who lives at the premises, was treated at KEMH for first degree burns to her face and hands and released.

Road Closure

The Minister of Works & Engineering wishes to inform motorists of the temporary closure of Point Finger Road in Paget.

Point Finger Road (between the Hospital entrance and South Road) will be closed from 7am Saturday, January 27, 2007 until 4pm Friday, February 2, 2007.

Access to King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) entrances will be from Point Finger Road via Berry Hill Road and/or Berry Hill Road.

The Ministry would like to encourage the full co-operation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that this closure may cause.
