Robbery

At 2:20 this morning, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 31 year old Devonshire man, stated that around 2am he left an area establishment and was walking along Court Street in Pembroke towards his car when he was approached by an unknown man. The individual attempted to talk to the Devonshire man, but he ignored him and kept walking. The suspect then grabbed the victim from behind causing him to fall to the ground. While on the ground the Devonshire man was kicked and punched by the suspect, who took the victim's gold chain before walking off with two unknown women towards Front Street. The suspect, a 23 year old St. George's man, as well as a 19 year old Warwick woman and a 19 year old Devonshire woman, were subsequently arrested on Front Street in connection with the incident, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. The victim did not report receiving any injuries. Inquiries are underway.

At 2:30am on Tuesday, Police attended KEMH after a report of a robbery. The victim, a 23 year old Hamilton parish man, stated that he was walking near the junction of Controversy Lane and Tulo Lane in Pembroke when he was attacked from behind by two unknown assailants. One of the suspects restrained the victim while the other took $500 in cash from his pant's pocket. The suspect restraining the Hamilton parish man then stabbed him in the chest with a bladed article; however, after being stabbed the victim managed to break free and fled the scene on foot. The suspects also made good their escape. At last check the victim was on a general ward at the hospital receiving treatment for a minor stab wound to the chest and a cut to his right hand. The suspects are described as two young black men, approximately 5'6" tall wearing long black T-shirts and blue jeans, with one of the suspects also wearing a long red hooded top. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
