Sudden Death

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 56 year old Leonard Flood of Sandy's parish. Mr. Flood's body was found at a Somerset Road, Sandy's parish premises around 10:20am Friday and was subsequently pronounced dead by an on call physician at the scene. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing; however, there are no apparent suspicious circumstances. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Robbery

At 4pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 68 year old Pembroke man, stated that around 3:30pm he was walking south on Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke when two unknown men on a silver scooter also traveling south on Blackwatch Pass rode past him and stopped. One of the men got off the scooter and approached the Pembroke man demanding money. The victim handed the suspect his brown wallet containing $70 in cash and personal items. Both suspects then made good their escape on the silver scooter, continuing to travel south on Blackwatch Pass. The victim was not injured. The main suspect is described as a dark skinned man, approximately 5'8" tall, a little chubby with a round clean shaven face. He is believed to be in his late 20s and was wearing a black jacket as well as a silver helmet with a dark coloured peak. The second suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5'9" tall wearing a silver helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

Around 8:15pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Store Lane in Sandy's parish involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling east on Middle Road when the car exited Store Lane on to Middle Road and the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, an 18 year old St. George's man, sustained facial injuries and a broken right leg. He was taken to KEMH for treatment of his injuries. The driver of the car, a 77 year old Sandy's parish man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 6 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 6 reported burglaries (2 in Devonshire, 2 in Pembroke, 1 in Southampton and 1 in Sandy's parish). There were also 16 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
